dropping AP Physics C junior year

So I've developed this hatred for physics. And I've just lost all motivation for physics completely. I don't understand anything no matter how hard I try. Magnetism is just not my thing. I have no plan on majoring in physics in college, or anything remotely related to physics. Why am I in AP physics? I ask myself this everyday.

I am thinking about dropping physics. But the problem is that I'm a junior. Everyone is telling me that it will look bad on college apps. But I don't want to continue with physics.

Would it really affect admissions to a school? Especially since I plan on going into med school later on?

Oh yeah, the other problem is that my counselor refuses to let me drop the course because it's "school policy."Which is ridiculous since I know of at least one kid who dropped the class mid semester (like I'm doing). Eugh, how do I deal with these kinds of counselors?

no further questions. this answers your question.

actually whats your grade in the class? if you have a high c and above, just keep going and fight if off. but if you feel your going to fail the class, drop it and tell your counselor dropping is better than failing and i'm pretty sure s/he'll drop it for you.

See, if other kids in the class were able to drop it mid semester, why not me? And I've gone through our school handbook twice today, I don't see anything about not letting me drop a class mid semester. The thing that makes me mad is that other students were able to drop the class, so why am I the one who isn't allowed to?

My grade fluctuates a lot. Without homework and labs (which are easy to do well on) I am on the verge of getting a D. My counselor says that my grade in that class is not low enough to warrant a "misplacement" - which would let me drop the class. My teacher told my counselor that I'm "struggling, especially on tests." I think he conveniently forgot (since another kid dropping his class would probably make him look bad, and he's getting his tenure soon) to tell her that I got a 47% on the last test with the massive ~25% curve.

The biggest thing is whether or not a withdraw on a transcript will look bad.
