Dropping classes + grades after acceptance

I was accepted with a 3.3 UW and 4.01 weighted, and from what my counselor told me only 1st quarter grades were sent out to my applied colleges.

Now senioritis is hitting me hard, and i'm really falling behind in an ECE Spanish course offered by UConn at my high school that I took just for show (no effect on final GPA, its mostly juniors), and by falling behind, I mean I currently have an F this quarter. My grades are taking a slight dip in my other challenging courses as well.

Would it matter if I dropped this one course? I'd still take an honors Spanish in place of it, and I'm still in other honors/AP classes. They aren't going to look at my stuff later on and see that my grades took a slight down curve and that I dropped a class and rescind their offer are they?

I had this problem when I was senior as well but the difference is just that my teacher was impossible and was failing people left and right. The system dropped that grade since I was no longer in that class. So if you switch you may want to ask someone who does your rostering for your high school classes will that grade be dropped because you are no longer in it. I had that grade from the class that i dropped on my 1st semester transcript. I had my college counselor( or your guidance counselor or whoever handles the college process in your high school) high light that course on the paper and type out a letter saying why I was not in that class anymore and taking an AP course instead and the grade for the class I was no longer in will be dropped off my final transcript.

If your school doesnt drop the grade I’m not sure if PSU will revoke your acceptance maybe you should try to contact the admissions office. but I’m not sure if i really answered your question. I hope this helped.

I’ve also been accepted and I emailed admissions and they said they do not need final or mid year transcripts and only check to see if you graduate.

that is awesome,. so as long as you pass you can’t get ur app taken away??

It sounds like dropping a college level class would be fine. But don’t screw up in all of your classes, because they still could pull your acceptance in June.
