Dropping Dilemma - AP Physics I

So… hi everyone,
I’m a HS junior that’s currently taking AP Physics I in high school. I’m considering dropping an AP Physics course but can’t decide if dropping to Honors would hurt more than help me. There are some really major factors that are going into my decision and was wondering if anyone thought that one side outweighs the others from their perspective as both are equally strong in mine (obviously leading to my indecision).

ARGUMENT FOR STAYING IN

  1. I do have a B+ though I initially started with a D when I went to my counselor to talk about dropping. Labs and test corrections have brought the grade up.
  2. Obviously, AP courses do look good for your GPA.
  3. If I do drop, getting an A in honors is important if it wants to look like I gave up AP just to get a lower score (both GPA/grade wise) in honors

ARGUMENT FOR LEAVING

  1. I don’t have confidence in getting an A- or A in the class.
  2. I also don’t feel confident that I’m going to get anything close to a 5 in May for the AP test (our tests are basically AP test simulations and those have not fared well - I got a D for my first/most recent one).
  3. The stress. I often find myself having a nervous breakdown or stressing a lot about the class, especially when tests come close.

PLEASE HELP! I need to make a decision ASAP.

Argument #3 for leaving says it all. Having a nervous breakdown over one grade out of 30 or so classes isn’t worth it.
My senior daughter has a 91% in AP Physics. She will probably end up with a B or B+ when the semester is over, which will be the first non A grade since second grade. She is not applying for any type of stem major, so we’ve told her to do her best, and not worry about it. She took physics last year (School doesn’t offer honors physics) so she can’t change into that course. She’ll get into a great school, and so will you.

I am not sure about whether you should stay in it or not, but if you do decide to remain in the class, you should try to develop study groups with some of your classmates. I’m sure you are not the only one struggling in the class.
