Hey, I am currently a junior, taking AP U.S. and AP Phyiscs B. I am struggling immensely with AP Physics B and am considering dropping it to either honors or regular depending on availabilty. I currently have an 87.78 average due to my lack of initiative in school during my 1st semester of freshmen year in which I earned a couple of Cs.

My question is what should I do about AP Physics B? I think I can pull off a B in the course with ALOT of studying. But I also want time for extracurriculars, studying for the SAT ,and of course a social life. Also, I don't want to do poorly in AP Physics and for it to lower my already "average" average. Please share your insights.

I think you should stick with it, it’ll look better on your transcript.

I 'm also in AP physics B, and I’m also struggling because my teacher doesn’t teach ):

Honestly, if you’re suffering a lot (below an 83) I say drop it… because physics only gets harder from here on out, especially second semester with magnetism/electricity. If you feel you can study hard enough to maintain a B, then I say yes because colleges consider physics one of the tougher AP courses, so having it would look good. I managed to get by with an A both semesters but they were both borderline and I had to study extremely hard (and that was with exemption from second semester final and dropping a low test grade each semester).

So physics is hard. But if you think you can maintain a B and do well on the AP exam, I say keep it.
