Drug Use at Lehigh: A Cautionary Tale

It seemed strange for this thread to be revived, and you are beating the same drum. The OP comes across as hysterical and stuck in some fantasy that I don’t believe is rampant or the norm. I believe his (or your) daughter told him that stuff, but everything I’ve seen, heard, and know shows that to be exaggerated and fantastical. I don’t believe it to be realistic and he shouldn’t go around making such serious accusations without proof. If he has proof, he should go to authorities. My hunch is that he doesn’t have any such proof to back up his inflammatory claims, other than his daughter’s fantastical stories. She is a transfer student, apparently, and couldn’t swing it at her original college, either. Now, he’s bitter and attacking Lehigh, spreading rumors anonymously online. Anyone can throw around outrageous lies online and create new screen names, but it doesn’t make that stuff true or believable.

My son is younger than you claim, so I don’t think he was at Lehigh when that went down. Despite your thinking that you know my son better than me and that he can’t possibly be honest, I know my kid is being honest because he has a health condition that if he did indulge, he’d be in the hospital, no way around it, end of story. You’re very wrong, and I don’t appreciate you attacking my son’s character with such vile and ignorant claims. He’s always been taught right from wrong and to make good choices and not bow down to peer pressure. It really is something that every high school kid going to any college should know. It’s the parents’ job to teach their kids to be strong and independent…wherever they go to college.

Lehigh is amazing. My son is outgoing and has a lot of friends. There is no shortage of safe and fun activities with the wonderful landscape. The alumni network is strong, and his education is top-notch. He has a great future ahead of him, and it’s thanks to his hard work and taking advantage of the wonderful education that Lehigh affords him. He tells me all of the time that he made the right decision to choose Lehigh and hasn’t looked back, only looking ahead.

I apologize for being harsh, Oldgreg. If what you wrote is true, then it needs to be part of the conversation.
