Drugs on Campus

Anyone have information regarding the drug scene on campus? I have heard that drugs are very prevalent at Trin as compared to many schools due to its lack of surrounding nightlife. Given that there is nowhere (or hardly anywhere) to walk for evening fun there tends to be a lot of drugs (I specifically heard coke) on campus. I heard that frat parties are the only activity for weekend nights. Of course I am aware that all college campuses have some (a lot) of this problem. My concern is that this problem is escalated in an environment where there is little alternative. I can imagine that the novelty of being at college (freshman) is fun at first, so maybe this problem is less of an issue freshman year?

As a current student at Trinity, I can honestly say that I haven’t seen drugs on campus during my 2 and 1/2 years here. Drugs are a problem on most every college campus like you said and if you wanted to find them you probably could. However, they don’t dominate the social or going out scene and there are plenty of other alternatives to frat parties every weekend. There are a lot of fun things to do off campus, especially in West Hartford if you are looking to get off campus.

Thanks TCStudent for your reply. I had heard that this is a problem at Trinity, and it raised my concerns.
