<p>Does anyone think expressing a serious interest in Directed Studies would help my chances of admission to Yale?</p>
<p>Hate to say it, but most likely not.</p>

<li><p>There are similar programs at other schools.</p></li>
<li><p>Yale has more than enough students interested in DS in every matriculating class. (The fact that some applicants to DS are turned away is proof of this.) The admissions officers are more concerned with building a class in which students complement each other.</p></li>
