A lot of LAC's advertise the fact that their their dual-degree engineering majors do their last two years at a particular engineering school. Often reputation of these engineering schools far surpasses the reputation of the LAC.
Can anyone please tell me if this transfer from the LAC to the engineering school is automatic, is it contingent on high grades, how easy is the transition?
I guess that my question really is, is it realistic to believe that one can attend a little-known LAC but graduate with an engineering degree from, say, Georgia Tech, Columbia, Cornell, etc.?

My son is also considering 3/2 programs. We have looked at the Columbia page and it states as long as you have a 3.0 avg in science and required major courses, recs from school adviser and teacher and apply u will be accepted.

Thanks for the info. I didn’t realize this would be Columbia’s website. I’ll check it out , and with the other schools as well.
