I've been looking at UCSC's dual-degree program, particularly their offering of a dual-degree of Management Economics (Accounting Emphasis) B.A. and a M.S. in Applied Economics and Finances. Supposedly this is a five-year program:

http://econ.ucsc.edu/Grad/dual.shtml

At this point, I've considered the possibility of either becoming an auditor, analyst, or perhaps eventually becoming a management consultant of some sort.

Would the dual-degree program be of any help in any of those potential careers that I've mentioned, or is it a waste of an additional year?

Also, would someone with more experience please give me some pros and cons on each of those careers I listed (auditor, analyst, consultant)? I'm still in the very early stages of research, so I'm open to all suggestions.

Thanks in advance.
