Dual Degree Workload?

I'm starting WUSTL next year, and I'm in both the business school and A&S. Can anyone tell me how much of a workload this will be? I'm hoping to have time to socialize on weekends and go into St. Louis... Is this feasible?

Thanks!

Same question! Doubling in A&S for English - Writing and Sam Fox for Comm. Design.

(and congrats!)

And to you too!

For ArtSci (call it that, by the way), I don’t think any of the majors are TOO rigorous. The life science majors like Biology and Biochem might be on the same level as something like BME, but most majors are probably not as bad. I especially can’t imagine the workload for an English major to be too heavy.

As for the business school, I know nothing except for the fact that B-School classes don’t meet on Friday…so your workload will be lighter in that regard.

I think you be fine. You will certainly have to ration your time well, but there are plenty of people who are taking 18+ credits. They manage to still have lives, and you will too.

In regards to the dual degree in business, well, the saying around here is “B-school, pre-school” :D

Ok! I’m thinking of doing Economics and Finance, but I really have no idea. Thanks for the help!

Getting a dual degree is fine, it just won’t give you as much leeway to explore your options. I know lots of people who seem to be doing just fine with it.

I’ve never heard the “b-school pre-school” mantra, but you certainly don’t see people stressing out about business like you may see with some art or bme majors.

And thentheresme, just fyi there’s not actually an “English - Writing” major, you have to major in English Lit and then you can get a minor in writing. If you really want a double major and a minor, you may have to overload your schedule or take classes over the summer.

Oh, because when I did the pre-application supplement English - Writing was an option so that was what I selected. I’m definitely doing English no matter what, the English - Writing just appealed to me more, so that’s what I put down.
