Are you able to double major between the business school and the college of arts and sciences?

Yep! That’s certainly possible. WashU makes it easy to do as well.

On this topic, how difficult would it be to, say, double major in PNP and Business Administration?

Easy. I tripled in CS, math, and Econ. Double major is no biggie, no matter what departments.

How about ChemE and Spanish major with a music minor? This is what D wants to do. I think it’s a bit ambitious given the challenges of an engineering degree. She also wants to COOP. WUSTL seems to be one of the few schools that encourage students to pursue such ambitions.

^depends on ap. would be doable without the coop in 4 (or maybe 4 and a half) years.

Thanks marcdvl: D said the coop is very important to her and if she had to give up anything she would be willing to minor in Spanish rather than major. She should have 11 AP’s when she graduates including Spanish Lit. and Language. My understanding, however, is that WUSTL only accepts 15 hours of AP credits. Is that correct?

Yes, you are correct… Not sure when engineering implemented the 15 (it used to be unlimited), but it is now the case.

o_O well that’s just pure nonsense (and I’m glad your daughter viewed it that way too).

Depending on what level Spanish she places into, a double ChemE/ Spanish major is very doable in 8 semesters*. The music minor may push it to 9, but I don’t know enough about the music program to really know about course loads.

*The co-op could of course potentially spread the 8 semesters out into 4.5 years. That being said, I think I’ve told you before that I just finished my co-op and I’m BS/MS’ing in 9 total semesters (rather than the typical 10). I’ll graduate with 160 credits with only 6 of those coming from AP. Long story short, proper planning can make seemingly impossible routes possible.

Thank you Johnson181. I deleted my post after re reading it but I really appreciate your answer. Ever since we visited WUSTL it has been at the top of her list. It was their encouragement to pursue what you wanted that impressed her the most. The gorgeous campus, the surrounding area and the prestige are all merely lagniappes to her.
