I was told I would get AP credit for the dual enrollment classes I took this semester, but when I recently asked about it, I was told that dual enrollment classes aren’t factored into GPA.
Do any other people’s school not factor DE classes into GPA or is that just me?
I’m mostly annoyed because I was told I would get credit.
My daughter’s school does factor dual enrollment credit (most classes are the same as AP) into gpa. It is listed right in the student handbook. Do you have it in writing on the school program of studies or anything?
Yes. In the student handbook it says “student will be given AP credit” however they said they would put it on the transcript but not factor it into my GPA. I’m not sure why it is listed as AP credit.
Did you ask guidance what it means to be given ap credit? Maybe they are just saying that it is the same level when you apply to college? My daughter’s is sort of listed on the transcript (says dual enrollment math but not the name of the actual math class. The grade itself though is listed and given the same weight as an ap grade would get and averaged into the gpa. In terms of college my daughter needs to use the college transcript which her high school guidance counselor puts up on naviance (along with her high school transcript) after dd orders an official sealed copy from the college.
