For dual enrollment courses, many applications ask for the credits awarded. However, on some of them, I’m seeing “units”. What does this mean? My courses were taken in UHS Albany and SUPA (Syracuse University Project Advance).
“Units” is a common terminology for credit hours (as used by Albany and Syracuse) among California public universities and community colleges and some other schools.
For California public universities and community colleges, 1 unit is the same as 1 credit hour at other colleges on the same calendar (semester or quarter). Note, however, that 1 unit for a semester system school = 1.5 units for a quarter system school, since a 10-week quarter is 2/3 the length of a 15-week semester.
If the college in question is not a California public university or community college, you should name the college in question, so that others can help you better with information specific to the college.
It is a UC one, thanks for the help!
