Dual Enrollment

I posted something similiar to this under Advanced Academy of West GA.
If a student goes to a residential gifted school on a college campus for his senior year of HS and receives college credit for courses taken will it affect his freshman status when applying for fall 2009 admission? I don't want DS to do anything to muddy the financial aid waters since he will definitely need it.

Would dual enrollment at the student's high school work the same way? This program allows the student to go to high school and college at the same time. Will it hurt your financial aid or possible academic merit scholarships? Would you still be considered a freshman? I hope this question makes sense

In our State college Credits earned under concurrent enrollment are not added to the college credit until after the first semester of college. So the student still enters as a freshman and is eligible for freshman scholarships etc.

One thing students were warned against was doing community college classes in the summer between HS graduation and starting high school. That could cause loss of freshman status because the concurrent enrollment credits would be added to the classes taken in the summer. Loss of freshman status could cause loss of scholarships already awarded.
