Dual Enrollment

This question might sound horribly stupid but I am not too familiar with the concept of Dual Enrollment. So I was wondering, for Dual Enrollment, is it possible for you to take a few classes at your high school, and leave school early every day, and take the rest of your classes at community college at different times? So I would only have to be at high school for a few hours every day? Does anyone else do it this way?

That’s the way my school does it unless it’s an online course.

Would dual enrollment be possible at my school? We have a rotating schedule, so our classes are at different times everyday. And does dual enrollment cut into after-school ECs like sports?

For my school you take two release periods, and do your one or two classes at the university.

We had rotating schedule at my school until I pretty much informed the principal he wasn’t going to do it anymore. lol

Rotating schedule makes it pretty much impossible to do dual enrollment. You may still do after or before school but you cannot miss college classes for high school classes (after x times you fail, no matter if you were in the hospital or what) and your high school is not likely to let you miss class 3 times a week or more.

My school has early release 6th and 7th period for DE classes. You leave after 5th period, and go up to the CC and then take your class there. On days you don’t have class, you go home on early release (some people have part-time jobs).

With a rotating schedule, I’m not too sure you could manage DE. Is there anyway to fit it in?

Does your school have a DE program? Or do you have to organize DE on your on time?

I have. It’s awful because in order to travel to my university, I needed to bus. It’s so time consuming and I hated doing it. But if you’re driven enough, do it…

Oh. Well I live within walking distance of both my high school and my community college, so I don’t think that part would be too difficult for me.

Think dual enrollment would look better on a transcript, if the class isn’t offered at the school?
