Dual major in Engineering and history

Is that possible for me to do that?
Dual major in IE and history.
I actually have more interst in History, But i have never excell in it. On the other hand, I am good at math and physics, but not too much passion lies in them. And I know if i major in IE, I can get a high salary job, but if I major in History, I am not sure about the job, though I can get a JD or MBA in the future. IT's so far far away.
I quite like both. But I hear it's really tough.
So do you have any interests like me or have you once made this sort of difficult choice?

Yes, it’s possible.

As Slorg said, you can, I just don’t know why you’d want to. The IE degree would be more helpful in terms of an MBA or JD, anyway.

If you like history but have no intention to work in a history-related field, you might want to think about just a minor or taking elective courses in the history department. I wouldn’t double major unless you actually intend to use the degree.

It’s possible, though I would suggest only minoring in history. The IE major is more flexible when it comes to career options.

thanks so much.
MY future is clearer now:P

The is an entire pool of colleges that truly want you: the intellegent thoughtful person who wants both the critical thinking fine honed by a liberal arts education, AND the analytical skills of the STEM oriented soul. Take a look at liberal arts colleges that offer strong engineering degrees:

Dartmouth
Princeton
Brown
Bucknell
Washington University
Harvey Mudd
University of Portland
Fairfield University.
Swathmore or skidmore (I get them mixed up)

etc etc.

Some employers really do want engineers with strong econ/history/lit backgrounds to groom for upper management.
