Hey everyone, I was accepted EA to the business school and I was wondering how difficult it would be to dual major in accounting and finance, while also pursuing a minor in spanish. I already have a ton of Spanish credits, so I'm already pretty close to a Spanish minor. Any input is very appreciated. Thank you!

Congratz! Well, I don’t know anything except that I will also probably attend SCU for business next year if I am accepted! BUT, I do know a friend who graduated 7 years ago from SCU, and he got a major in both finance/accounting, so it’s definitely possible! I visited the campus last week and everyone was very friendly and seemed happy. The business building is brand new too! Goodluck.

While at SCU, you are not allowed to double major (or dual major) in two disciplines within the Leavey School of Business. What some people have done is take the requirements for both Finance and Accounting, and then write on their resume that they have also taken the requirements for the “second” major. There are no exceptions to the LSB rule.

As for the Spanish minor, the minor requires that you take at a minimum 4 upper-division classes. So definitely doable with your major.

Oh weird, okay. Is it generally pretty hard to do the dual majoring in Accounting and Finance?

apparently you can NOT double major in finance and accounting at SCU.

Sorry, my last comment was a bit strange. What i meant is, is it really hard to take all the classes required to do both? (when in reality you’re just getting one major)
