Help for Accounting Majors

So I'm currently in community college majoring pre-business. I had planned to transfer to UCF to finish a B.S. in Accounting. But honestly I'm doing this because of the feasibility of it. I don't necessarily find these business pre-reqs engaging. Accounting In HS was semi interesting.

My real love is languages. I would love to major in Spanish! The culture and language enthrall me. But my parents find this would be a waste and would lead to less than satisfying job prospects.

My question is, what exactly would a double Major in Spanish and Accounting entail? Would this be a wise choice in terms of overlap and scheduling. I really don't know all of what a double major entails and any guidance would be most appreciated.

~Thank you.

Major in Accounting, minor in languages. This is hands down very easy.

I agree with Asad. It is tough to have a double minor when you are an accounting major due to the need to satisfy all the business core requirements. If it makes you feel any better I have a masters in accounting and an MBA and I found the business prereqs uninteresting.

I’d imagine being fluent in both the language of business and say Spanish would make you of great use to many companies, but its hard to insure that you wouldn’t be pigeonholed into a solely accounting focused job.
