Dublin School

Does anyone know anything about Dublin School in NH? I’ve searched far and wide and can’t find anything besides the school website. Would love some opinions and insight. Many thanks.

Nobody has anything to say? Good, bad, indifferent? Pretty please?

Dublin is an excellent school for the right kid. We visited with our daughter and were impressed, but it fell off our list early primarily because of the size.

It is a homey, low key kind of place. The academics seem strong, and the few kids we know who went there were happy. We know of very bright kids who went there and who succeeded, as well as kid who struggled a bit more and who still did well. Kids go to good colleges from Dublin (http://www.dublinschool.org/s/profilecolor20142015.pdf), although the range is certainly not as top heavy with Ivies and top 30 LAC’s as some other boarding schools.

A possible downside for a bright, motivated kid might that certain academic options there may a bit too limited, whether it be honors sections of courses, AP’s, or the like. Kid of all levels will be appropriately challenged, but because the school deliberately tries to build a community that is diverse in many ways, including learning and academic needs, it will not be as academically homogenous as St. Paul’s or Holderness (http://www.dublinschool.org/who-benefits/). I see it as sort of on par with Kimball Union, academically, although Dublin seems a bit less traditional in many ways, and the smaller size would be very attractive for a lot of kids.

It really depends what you are looking for in a school. If you like their philosophy and structure, it definitely should be included on your list.

My daughter’s school (Putney) plays them in sports… wish I had more to offer!

Thank you!

They seem to have a fairly successful robotics team.
