Does anyone have or know of any experiences at The Dublin School in Dublin, New Hampshire (a small mainstream boarding school) for any student who has some learning disabilities that require "level the playing field"- section 504 type of accommodations? Besides the relatively brief list of basic disability accommodations, and the support provided by the Learning Skills Program, I am wondering how "naturally" accommodating the teachers were/are? Someone whose student is at another mainstream boarding school but needs a lot of learning disability accommodations said that the teachers at the other school go out of their way to accommodate her student even though it's not formalized, and I am wondering if that is the experience at The Dublin School? It seems their policy at The Dublin School is to only guarantee and formalize a few very basic disability accommodations in writing, and then anything else would be left up to the teachers, so I'm wondering how in practice it works out there. My student probably needs more "level the playing field" section 504 type of accommodations than they are willing to guarantee and memorialize in writing, but we love the school, and did feel a kind and accommodating vibe there when we visited, but I don't know if I can depend on that.
