I'm aware that this is a ridiculous question, but I am a ridiculous person..:

If a guy says "Dude," to you, does this mean he doesn't like you? (as in 'like like')

If a guy says "Dude," to you, does this mean he doesn't like you? (as in 'like like')

I’m serious…

noo it’s just a california thing
like “Dude, I just failed that test” that can refer to a girl or boy. We just use dude to emphasize what we’re going to say.

No, I would address my best friend as “dude” and he wouldn’t think anything of it. The term “bro” is the same way. Usually used in a positive manner but can be used sarcastically.

I mean it can be used in a condescending manner, similar to addressing someone as buddy, chief, partner, or pal.

hm… Well, he is originally from California and he wants to move there after high school (my crush) but we live in New England.

To clarify, I’m wondering if this indicates that he doesn’t like me as more than a friend.

Dude, don’t worry about it.

It’s commonly known that if a guy calls you “Dude”, you’ve been “friend zoned”.

Now if he calls you “Dudette”… ;)

Guys just do it subconsciously, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I didn’t think people used that word

^Only thuper thexy people do.

It’s like the ultimate pick up line. And almost as creepy as the word “ladies…”

I heard a mom telling a <10 year old boy to say “excuse me ladies” to some girls today. I too thought it was creepy.

^^ nobody uses that word -_-

and isn’t “**** you?” the ultimate pickup line :b

I honestly think if a guy calls you dude, he’s not very attracted to you.

I call my girlfriend dude/bro/man all the time. It means nothing. I wouldn’t take it as an indication either way.

The ‘Dude’ looks like a lady.

I’m sorry, it had to be said.

I used to like Aerosmith, but now I find them annoying

Strangely, I find the Sex Pistols to be non-annoying. *Que extra

I like you dude

I say dude to my fiance sometimes. He gets a kick out of it because he knows when I say that, I’m really excited about something.

It means different things to different people.

dude is the opposite of edud, as in e-dud, aka electronic dud.

so it’s essentially ****ing awesome
