Stanford peeps, what up! Duke is now tied for first of my remaining choices now that I got denied from Stanford (today, not friday like everyone else…). I also really like Princeton and Amherst, but I think Duke might be above them because of competitive sports, focus on diversity, blah, blah, blah.

Yay, we should have a SCEAer reunion at Duke!

i’m all for that 100% mfed! haha

sg! Welcome! Sorry about your decision and the huge wait, but at least now you get to hang out with the cool kids!

SFG2014 - I had my interview yesterday.

gabby what kind of things did they ask you?

The interview lasted over an hour. She spoke of her experience at Duke first. She asked questions like why Duke? What adversity have I had to overcome and what did I learn from it? What are my academic interest and goals? Exactly what you would probably expect to be asked. It was very comfortable and unformal.

My D was contacted today about an interview. She submitted her supplement on the 10th, so that was quick!

@gabby

Great that’s my kind of interview. No weird questions like impossible math puzzles right? lol

I haven’t heard from my interviewer yet.

So far (in STL mind you):
Interviews Conducted: Yale (tonight)
Interviewers who have yet to contact me: Harvard, Duke, UPenn.

I’ve got a feeling that it won’t be until January until most alumni interviews occur (for almost all of our top choices).

Good luck with all of your interviews! Make sure to research ahead of time! My Yale interviewer was convinced that I had visited the campus (thoroughly) and all I did was research it an hour before the interview XD

Oh and try to figure out what they majored it in, I dropped bits about reading Sartre, Camus, and Kierkegaard, and (imo) the importance of understanding multiple perspectives in a world that often tries to trivialize things into black and white categories. Turns out he was Yale’s only philosophy/pre-med in 1966 :D

I have my interview this Saturday. This will be my 5th interview

hope to see you guys next year! go duke 2014!

does anyone know how often Duke students interact with UNC Chapel Hill students?

interview tuesday!

mfed: i bet they do. They’re all a part of the “research triangle.” i’m sure theres a lot of rivalry especially when it comes to NCAA basketball :D

@mfed – A lot of Duke students hang out on Franklin Street, so the mixing of the two collegiate groups is common. Also, in the instance that you have friends attending Chapel Hill, they’re only a bus-ride away; the Robertson Scholars bus travels between the two campuses.

I feel like my Duke interview went really well today!

But my interviewer did say that she rarely had any interaction with UNC students.

duke is too much of a reach for me… :/

when are decisions released?

I think they are released on April 1
