I know I have seen several people who claim to have applied to Duke this year as a transfer but no results threads. I'm very interested in transferring into Duke but I was just curious as to what they look for in accepted applicants if there are any on CC.

Please post stats as well if you don't mind.

well I do know that there are universities with similar acceptance rates and numbers that are fairly well represented on here. Apparently there have been no acceptances that I can find on CC, this doesn't bode well for me next year, I know the chances are very low but it would be the perfect school for me...

"it would be the perfect school for me..." what makes you so sure, just don't think of transferring now and give your current university a chance

what makes you so sure, just don't think of transferring now and give your current university a chance

this coming from the guy going to Penn...

I assure you that I've given my university a sufficient chance and it has absolutely nothing for me. Why are you giving me advice when you have absolutely no idea why I said what I did?

no offense it was a joke bro... what we are saying is that it is an extremely competitive school to get into and it is nothing to get your hopes up for. We are not trying to tell you right from wrong or trying to tell you not to apply. We are merely saying that your chances are low no matter what your gpa is and to try to have a good time at the school that you are at currently.

then you should spend some time on your application everyday from now until march 15 2008 and work hard on it and then u WILL HAVE a chance in getting accepted

unless they had an acceptance rate similar to Stanford this year (20 out of 1400) which is = 1.5%, which means that they'll have to turn down about 69 other applicants to take you then go sleep

stats wise they took 20 out of 600 if you're curious about percentage, though i think it varies a little year to year! good luck! if you're interested, go for it!

stone i don't know if its worth it for a 3% transfer rate.

my friend applied as a freshmen this year with 2390 SAT, 4.3 gpa, and really strong e.c.s. Duke rejected him. He's going to MIT but he is deadset on transfering to Duke next year.
