Not sure how those departments stack up at Duke vs Stanford. You might look at some grad school ranking for poly sci-gov to help guide you.

Tigerfan,
First of all, congratulations! I'm definitely jealous, I got in SCEA to Stanford and applied to Duke in hopes of the slim chance that I might get a "likely letter" and invitation to participate in the AB Duke program. Didn't happen. So it looks like its Stanford for me (Duke was really the only chance I had to get money).
I don't think it'd hurt to mention it exactly as you phrased it. I'm sure they will be impressed by a distinction that a majority of their own early admits didn't receive.

My roommate and I both received the Duke AB scholarship last year.

Rooster, that's cool. How hard is it to win AB Duke? I'd be interested in the kinds of people they choose (a bit about yourself, if you don't mind) as well as why you chose Stanford.

hundreds of kids are battling for YOUR spot. Stanford doesn't give two cents if you'd rather go to Duke. They could drop you and find another student who is just as qualified, or maybe even more qualified that yourself.

kinetic- I never claimed to have MY spot. I also never said I'd rather go to Duke. But thanks.
