Stanford and Duke differ in terms of selectivity. Stanford is a little more harder than Duke.. Stanford has an admit rate of 12%, while Duke's is 22%. (all from CB online stats).

Stanford is in my college list.

for this past year, Duke's admittance rate was A LOT lower than 22%, wasn't it? personally, i found Stanford's application to be a lot more interesting and unique than Duke's (commonapp), but i don't know if that affects anything =)

Stanford all the way here.

More selective, better programs in a wider field of study.

I would say to get at least a 2200 or so if you are not a recruited athlete/minority/someone important.

Stanford is currently my top choice, but I really doubt I'll get in it with my nonexistent ECs and screwed up 9th grade.

Duke... meh. Don't care about the Carolinas.

And yeah, they're both tough.

Stanford doesn't have interest in your freshmen year - so even if you screwed it - they won't be asking for it (only tenth and up)

Ray192- don't worry. They don't care about frosh. yr.
