^SAME. Ugh. This is seriously torture D:
Thank god its not Thursday though. I feel like that extra day would be an eternity.

I have an exam this afternoon…can’t focus! Didn’t sleep last night!! I just don’t want to be rejected…

Damn the time difference, won’t be able to check the decision until Thursday morning. (live in Hong Kong)

Obviously I won’t check it then - don’t want to break down before/during school.

GAHHHH THIS FEELS SO… real? :P

“Everything will be okay in the end.
If it’s not okay, it’s not the end”

Like the girl that I loved in high school
Who said she could do better
Or that college I wanted to go to
'Til I got that letter

All the fights and the tears and the heartache
I thought I’d never get through
And the moment I almost gave up
All lead me here to you

I didn’t understand it way back when
But sitting here right now it all makes perfect sense

lyrics from Darius Rucker’s song “This”.–Note the line that says “or that college I wanted to go to 'til I got that letter” Hopefully, we won’t have to experience that, but if we do, we know it was for a reason. 28.5ish hours

Time is the only thing that’s killing me. Not the future result of the decision.

Just a question to pass the time. What did y’all write in your “Why Duke?” essays? How long were they(given the 1-2 paragraph limit) etc?

my why duke essay were VERY VERY VERY VERY FAT substantial paragraphs. but yet very concise and clear. i hope we all get in… :P

My Why Duke was 2 decent-sized paragraphs. Probably 12-14 sentences total.

I applied to Pratt so it was part of my “why engineering, why duke” essay. I talked about their research on protein biomarkers for drug delivery (which is a really really realllyyyy big interest of mine) and how I enjoyed both the campus and faculty, citing the experience I gained during the Duke TIP program. I thought it was a great essay–roughly 250-350 words for the Why duke section, about 700 words total. Thank god there was no word limit…

I wrote about how Duke loves interdisciplinary studies, and how that would help with my double major, and how it tied in to a focus program and Duke Engage, and of course to me. It was a page single spaced, (2 double spaced) but still 2 nice well written paragpraphs. My teacher was nervouse about the length, but then said keep it the way it was because it was so interesting, no one would want to put it down. It flowed from one thing to another flawlessly(it was only like my 8th why duke essay, I didn’t like the others), and it clearly demonstrated how enthusiastic I am about Duke specifically without losing of site of myself. Afterall, Duke knows why they are great, they want to know why we think that too, and get to know us at the same time.

24 hours and counting

In 24 hours I could be crying my eyes out…

I will be crying my eyes out either way.

23.5 hours.

Anyone else in here an ED Legacy?

Dad works at Duke so treated like one! Woot woot!!

@WilliamAndMary Do you know of our exact statistical advantage?

No idea…you? But I’ve been told that it honestly helps more than being a legacy…I’m just hoping I get in

Ed legacy and mom works there. I know that itself won’t get me accepted but I hope there is some decent advantage
