Just had my interview today! It went really well; the interviewer was a very nice lady in her late 40s at most. She said she liked how I was able to grasp what makes duke such a special place when I visited and how passionately I talked about my visit. Now just fingers crossed and wait!

Who alls applying to Trinity?

Would anyone mind if I go through this thread and compile a list of usernames of who has definitely applied ED, and to which school (if it is known?) I’m recognizing a lot of names across Duke threads and would like to see them all in one list here on this thread. There really aren’t that many of “us” (I use the word loosely, as I am the parent, not the applicant. I swear I am more familiar with “all that is Duke” than my son is!! :D)

So if there are only a handful of us here, where are the other 2,580 or so others? Don’t they know about CC? ;)

Alright, well I’ll start off. I am applying ED to the Trinity School (major in economics, to be more specific)

I also applied ED to Trinity, but for chemistry.

My son has applied ED to Pratt.

ED Trinity Neuroscience

ED Trinity - hoping to pursue International Relations & Globalization (Program II)

ED to Trinity… realized today that I didn’t submit my sat II scores and really hope that is okay…

On a side note, I have always wondered, is Duke truly need blind? I am worried because I looked at the early decision thread for the class of 2016, and everyone seemed to have a family income of over 250k! My family income is at around 120k, and I wonder how much that will affect my admission decision…

What do you guys think?

I think you have to take them at their word that they are. If you get put on the waitlist they are not need blind.

I applied ED to Pratt, for biomedical engineering.

ED Pratt (BME)

Being in a family with higher income = higher chance of better everything when it comes to what goes into your college app.

So far I’ve found 15 definite ED’s, three of which are to Pratt. There have to be stats out there somewhere, like the normal curve for seniors on AP tests and the “CC” curve!! It’s no coincidence that somewhere close to half of the CC students who took the Chem AP test in spring 2011 got a 5 on it, whereas the general population bell curve shows a 5 as a MUCH more difficult grade to get. So my point is, I’m hoping that just be being here on CC we have changed the quantum physics of the situation and now we are all more likely to get in to Duke than a student (parent… have to add that for me) who has never heard of CC.

Does being on CC make us smart, or are we ALREADY smart, and in our organized intellectual google searching, we discover forums such as CC and are ecstatic to glean knowledge from it! :D

I’m going to try to think some good thoughts, even prayers if you will, for all of you I know are applying. We only have about 3 more weeks or so… It would be great to start off with a group of friends. Maybe we could set up a facebook page. Things were SOOO different when I went to college…We had a REAL FACEBOOK where you could look people up. Of course, it didn’t happen til you actually GOT there. None of this “making friends online thing” ! :D

There actually is still an actual “Facebook” at duke. I was looking at my friend’s while I was down there.

ED pratt, low chances though :(

gimishki- I actually meant just a Facebook group, for the class of 2017 ED until Spring, when RD decisions come out and the class becomes “fully formed”. Did Duke set up a group for “2017 admitted students” or will they come May? I just thought from Dec 15 to May 1, we could have “our” group. I don’t mean to sound elitist in any way, and hope it did not come off that way, I just enjoy hanging around people in the same boat! (and hopefully we are all on one that will stay afloat!)

ED to Trinity, Math and Economics. Low chances, we will see!
