Good luck to everyone! Just know that although Duke is an amazing place, you’re an amazing person for who you are, not because of some arbitrary college decision. You’ll find happiness wherever you go, be that here at Duke or elsewhere.

Hey guys I’m an international students who applies for financial aids so it’s definitely harder(less than 1%) for me to get in. I’m not expecting to get in anyway lol. However, it’s still an amazing experience with you guys here! Wish everyone luck tomorrow! Any international students out there giving up already like me? ?
Anybody think it’ll help that I’m the first person to ever apply from my school?

I think that the odds for the people on this thread is probably much higher than 18%, like I feel like anyone who puts this much thought into this is probably an exceptional student and applicant.
Of course it’s a little late in the game to be asking lol but would being internationally adopted be a hook? 2 years ago I was able to go back and visit my orphanage and actually meet my nannies — wrote my common app essay on it and how it fostered personal growth. Also in my interview I talked about how I have cousins adopted from all over the world, ie. China, Russia, Congo, Ukraine. Hoping this will compensate for the lower ACT score???
