I applied Early Decision to Duke in October. I received an e-mail from Duke saying that I was eligible for an alumni interview. Does anyone who has been through this process know when I should be contacted? The deadline to be eligible for and interview was October 19th. Should I contact the admissions office myself if I do not hear back soon?

You can contact admissions, but the best thing to do is to sit tight and wait. I interview for Duke and was assigned my ED interviewees only today.

Unfortunately, having your application in by the deadline doesn’t guarantee an interview…there’s a lot of alumni, but they’re not evenly distributed geographically.

I submitted the Duke supplement prior to October 19 but have not received notification I am eligible for an interview. Did you get an email specific to the fact you are eligible for an interview or was this part of another communication?

^Don’t worry about it. Submitted mine by the 19th and haven’t gotten contacted either, and I live in Charlotte.

I received a notification e-mail from Duke that told me I was eligible for an interview and that Duke would forward my information to an alumni association in my area, who would be contacting me shortly via phone. I received this e-mail from them on October 18th, two days after I submitted my application. The notice about the interview was included in the e-mail with the subject line: Duke Common Student Supplement received.

After my previous post, I did get a call from an alum and have an interview scheduled.
