I'm having a lot of trouble deciding which college I should go to. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Here's my situation: Rice is giving me a full ride. Duke and Northwestern would cost around $25,000 per year for me. (Duke is slightly more expensive than Northwestern). I'm from Texas, and I've always wanted to go out of state and join a sorority. Rice doesn't offer either of these two wishes. Is spending the extra money worth it, or should I just take Rice's offer?

what major? More info on your future goals would be helpful.

The big question is…how is the cost difference for Duke or NU and the cost for a sorority going to get paid?

If your family is going to happily pay for those extra costs (which could easily be $28k per year with sorority costs), then no problem. However, if they won’t, then won’t that be a problem?

A lot of Northwestern students join fraternities/sororities, and they seem to be more integrated into campus life than at most places. There isn’t a division between those that pledge and don’t pledge. I suspect this is not true at Duke.

Take the Rice offer and run!
