This is a relatively young joint medical school in Singapore linking Duke University and NUS. The first class had 26 students and the second class around 50. I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of backgrounds do applicants have?
Thank you!

One of my friends was in their inaugural class. She was a top-flight premed and (from the little I know) would have been competitive for upper-tier American med schools, including Duke-in-North-Carolina. Very, very bright kid; undergrad at Duke; double-major in biology/religion; excellent grades, high MCAT scores.

I think the major problem with this program is the bond with Singapore government, that a graduate student from this program HAS to serve for the Singapore hospitals for 5 years.

That means the residency, in Singapore...I wonder if ppl. with this training will be looked down in the U.S
