Duke or JHU?

Well I just got off the waitlist from Duke and am very excited. I had already enrolled at JHU but now I am reconsidering my decision.

I will probably be pre-med with a political science major. I like to study, but also like to party.

Please try to convince me to attend Duke over JHU. I will post this on the JHU forum to get their perspective.

Thanks, alot.

WOW I'm in the exact same situation!

I just got off Duke's waitlist today and now I have to pick between the same schools-- this is a very difficult decision. Both are essentially equal academically, but they offer very different social scenes and are in very different locations. Duke has basketball, but I wouldn't be able to compete on the track team, whereas at JHU I'd be a strong contributor.

did you get a call, e-mail, or letter?

I got a call.

To me, the social life difference tipped the scale in Duke's favor. I just got the feeling that Duke students were much happier and friendlier - and that there was much of a less cut-throat atmosphere academically. You might see it differently. I chose Duke BME over Hopkins BME. I could have also played tennis at Hopkins, but not at Duke. I just felt that I'd be a lot happier at Duke, so it made it no contest in my mind. You're right - academically, they're fairly on par.

i got an email when I got off the waitlist today.

Congratulations guys

I'd pick Duke, just for the fact that I think the social life is better, but JHU BME is certainly great

Any idea when we'll get financial aid information? I can still dream that somehow Duke's offer will be significantly better than JHU's :)

Congrats to everyone who got off the wait-list!
I have some friends who got off last year who picked Duke, they love it!! :)

Can someone copy and paste the email that they received?

Also, were you guys Trinity or Pratt?

I was Trinity
