Duke or Rice

I'm having trouble deciding between Duke and Rice.

I will be studying electrical engineering, but I am also interested in minoring in business. Can anyone help me out?

You should visit both.

Duke is very strong in pre-business. Not so strong in EECS.

Select the school with the lower transfer acceptance rate.

as someone who made the decision and went with duke, i'd strongly advise you to do the same. texas is kinda on a different frequency and duke has much, much more name recognition (also much better showing on wall street, if you're into that sort of thing). plus, the kids at duke are a bit more normal/social and, in my subjective opinion, better qualified. that said, you will get a great education at either one

Erm... not sure why you think Duke ECE is weak. And we don't have a pre-business program.

LOL

duke is strong in pre-business, but doesn't have it.

thanks for the help everyone

Incollege, I agree that Texas is a totally different place than NC, but I've heard that Rice is not that "Texan" as far as these things go... I think the OP should visit both. If he/she can't afford the airfare, the colleges may spring for it if you ask nicely :)

To maybe go further - there are degrees that tend towards preparing for business school - economics, public policy, political science, for example - that are quite strong here. And econ is one of the most prevalent double majors for engineers. If that helps :-D

hint the screename of the person who posted about Duke's nonexistent pre-business program: "randombetch"
