I'm not gonna lie, it was nice to see these 3 kids finally get an apology from the big man himself, the AG. I thought at the time, and still think, that it was amazing how they were treated upon arrest. They were arrested, and immediately considered rapists by the news, Rev. Jackson, duke students, and duke administration. In my opinion there is no way in hell I could go back to that school (and being that they are top notch lax players, they will have opportunities at hopkins/princeton I'd imagine) and personally it would SUCK to have to live with that stigma your whole life. I have no sympathy for that woman now that her picture has leaked onto the internet. Not only did she soil three kids lives, she cast into doubt future accusations of rape.

Focus: What are your thoughts on the case? If you were one of the aforementioned students would you stay at duke? What do you think of the accusers picture being leaked onto the internet?

I too was extremely relieved/happy that the charges were dropped. Ever since the beginning, I thought they were innocent. Our justice system says "innocent untill proven guilty", it's sad that society thinks the opposite.

I hope the players sue Duke for lots of money to teach schools and institutions that sometimes its better to make decisions that are morally sound rather than politically correct.

The whole situation was just incredibly saddening. One woman can just turn around, say something, and wreck 3 lives? I'm not saying she should be prosecuted, but society needs to check on this.

But everyone knows this was racially charged. Nifong was up for reelection soon and wanted the support of the black demographic. He thought he could get it by prosecuting 3 rich white kids. Unfortunately, he didn't stop to think they might be innocent.

I don't want to get banned again for saying what I think about a situation (Don Imus thread) but Nifong and and Crystal Gale Mangum should serve out whatever sentence that a person charged with rape gets. Actually the Duke 88, Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson should serve the same sentence, or at least all get one year minimum in prison. There needs to be a message sent in this case so this epidemic of women falsely accusing men of rape stops. Women need to know that they cannot claim rape every time they have a sexual experience they regret.

I disagree, Kent. I don't think the accuser should e prosecuted. Her prosecution could scare actual rape victims from reporting their rapes by showing them what might happen if there is no solid proof.

And ditto to Angljc. Jackson and Sharpton think only in black and white (literally and figuratively). We need new leaders that acknowledge pragmatism.

snoop: if there is no proof, there is no rape; bottom line! We seriously need to up the standards for falsely reporting rape, make it a class A felony and at least 2 years in jail minimum; we need an example here or else this kind of nonsense will continue.

If you cant get evidence, that's one thing....but when every piece of evidence points to a false accusation, you should be punished to some point. I'm not saying prison, but deff should go on the record...

A female physics teacher at my school got accused of "inappropriate behavior" with a 17 year old male student. Apparently, the 17 yo's ex-girlfriend gave an anonymous tip to the police that he and the teacher were having sex, and everyone knows that the teacher and student never did anything with each other.

All the teacher did was go to his concerts....and since the press leaked that she was having inappropriate behavior with a student, everyone thinks she is a pedophile....and she was never even proven guilty.

Unfortunately, she resigned and now her entire teaching career is ruined. She'll have to try to find a job in an area other than teaching. She was an amazing teacher.

So now the school hired a 21 year old male teacher. Ironic, huh?
