Interviews
I had a bunch. They all went well.

Anyone that applies to over 10 schools (in your case 17) obviously did not do enough research on the schools they applied to. If you did your research, you would be able to weed out at least 7-8 of those schools

Aside from that, i think you have a shot at duke. Your scores are above duke’s range, but your extra curriculars are lacking, and you unfortunately happen to be an ORM (yellow). We’ll see what happens when decisions come out, good luck.

I completely disagree about ECs being “lacking”, and I’m wondering if Ballinallday read the same post I did.

GPA seems low (is 3.86 weighted?!?); only other stuff that could hold you back is the subjective (essays/recs) and being an ORM.

You probably have a great shot.

^ He’s an ORM and an international student. While he (or she) does have a strong application, there is nothing dazzling about it. While a 3.86 GPA is pretty good for applying to top colleges, a class rank of 5% is not too spectacular. However, I must concur about his (or her) extracurricular. To me, they same scattered, and there is too much depth but enough breadth. I don’t really see any clear focus on a couple of specific activities.

Having said that, I think you stand a pretty good chance at Duke.

Good luck!

@luther

From the original post, I can see nothing on what the applicant has done in their extracurricular pursuits, I only see title names. Albeit the titles are impressive, but there is definitely not enough information here about the extracurriculars to give an accurate assessment.

I can’t say much about your chances (don’t know too much about international), but from your list I doubt you have much vested interest in Duke…

Yeah, that is because I did not post my full stats.
Chance me again.

I will post my accomplishments.

I agree with you, but in reality, my ECs are extremely deep.
I haven’t posted full stats.

True that. I can update, but I want to keep my private life and CC mutually exclusive.

Thank you, but I LOVE DUKE.
I JUST LOVE IT.
