HELP. Duke vs Barnard vs NYU
Hi, I can’t decide between duke, Barnard and nyu… Which do you think is a) most prestigious. B) get me a better job on wall street and C) should I consider Barnard kind of like Columbia, since technically (quote from wiki) is an official college of Columbia u… Help please deadline may 1st!
Thanksss

DecLined nyu and vassar

Also, which is better for gard school? Want to go to harvard business school…

So, you’ve narrowed it down to Duke and Barnard. Either will help you get into grad school. They are so different in atmosphere. I spent four years at Duke, and my daughters both went to Barnard. They are both filled with bright hard-working students. You seem pretty prestige minded. There were more people like that at Duke, nif that helps.

If your primary considerations are prestige + a job on wall street, you don’t sound like a very good fit for Barnard. I don’t know anything about Duke.

@2011ivy, based on the previous posts I’ve seen on this thread and your indecision and opinions on what you deem as important, I’d say Duke is a better bet for you. You don’t want “boring” girls. You probably want sports. And Duke does have a name. Trust me; there are people on wallstreet who know the Barnard name very well also. It’s in New York City for crying out loud. And yes, Barnard is Columbia. But if you’re simply one of the people who lives vicariously through the Columbia College student you wished you could’ve been, you would be kicking yourself in the butt that you didn’t go and receive the opportunities of Duke. If you want to go to a women’s college and care that Barnard may not be in the top names in US News and World Report but still has some weight behind the name, then go to Barnard. But I’m not sure that you’re that type of person. If it were me, the answer is obvious: go to Barnard. But Barnard is about fit. Are you fit?
