Duke vs. USC

Which school has a better Biological Science program?

No trustee scholarship.

Duke: #11
USC: #55

These are graduate rankings so take them with a grain of salt because research strength doesn’t neccessarily correlate with teaching quality. It’s hard to rationalize picking USC though since Duke has smarter students, more plentiful research opportunities, and better graduate/professional placement.

http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities

Perhaps more relevant, among National Universities at the undergraduate level, Duke is currently ranked seventh, USC is #23. No single indicator is especially meaningful and I wouldn’t be persuaded by subtleties in U S News’ annual assessment; however, there is a substantial difference between these two ratings (in my opinion, one university is clearly within the highest level, the other simply is not).
