When is the Dump & Run Yard Sale going to be? I looked all over the Cornell site and could not find it...

4 years ago it was during move-in/orientation

what is it?

when students move OUT in the Spring, whatever is left is not discarded or given away but held for the Fall, when new students arrive - it is a big "tag ' or yard sale...lots of used shoes I remember - but I am sure there are SOME treasures to be had!

usually it's on sat and sun during orientation

It is a huge gymnasium filled with donated things - clothes, sundries, electronics, sports equipment, purses, shoes... anything you can think of. The money collected goes to local charities - it changes every year. I helped with the set-up last year, and it was so much fun. Bring a few dollars, go with your roommate/new friends, and find some great deals... when we were folding clothes, we found a pair of Seven jeans (retail: $125+) that was to be sold for $2.

cool! Do they have signs up about it (for freshman/transfers who might not know to look) or is it kept pretty low key, like you have to know what you're looking for to find it? My room decorations are pretty funky so I'm pretty sure I could find some stuff there I might want.

It's in the orientation guide, so I don't think it's low key.

Deff not low key... there was a long line waiting to get in during orientation last year on the first day. I went, but it was pretty much all junk. Looking back on what I put in the dump and run (and what I found while going through my building's dump and run bin)... I'm going to surpass it this year.
