Durham

The Durham DVD and the personal postcard my regional admissions officer said me totally made my Monday awesome!:)

Take a look at this website - a different perspective on Durham:

Downtown Durham has been torn up for months and the streets are expected to be back to normal in May 2007. Developers have plans, but in some cases neighborhoods block them. Change is coming to Durham like it or not.

MovieBuff...I can accept the fact that Durham may suck because Chapel Hill/Raliegh are relatively close, but is it at least safe?

MovieBuff...while I respect your opinion, I don't know where you come off saying that no one at Duke goes to Durham. Also, a lot of people I know, including myself, really like Durham. If you say there is nothing fun to do, well then, you're either not adventurous enough to actually try to do anything in Durham, or your just not creative. If you are used to having places nearby that cater to people who don't want to do anything to have fun, Durham might not be the place for you. But if you are willing to try to go out into the city, try the amazing restaurants, go to Brightleaf Square, go to the Carolina Theater, go to the Northgate mall (if you have a car you can go to Southpoint), go to the Eno River, go a Durham Bulls game, listen to local bands, and maybe even explore the Mariott Hotel (my friends I went up to the top to see if you could see the chapel...you could),you can see what great things Durham has to offer. Durham can be great if you just try, and it really makes me angry when people dismiss this great place because it "looks dirty", please, are you seriously too good to actually try to like it here?
