<p>What do MIT students usually do during the summer? Do most of them stick around on campus?</p>
<p>I'm not at MIT (yet?) but I would assume they go home... like all other college students.</p>
<p>You would be surprised how many students stay on campus doing a UROP or other research during the summer. I don't have a real feel yet what is the general trend though - I know I'm going back home!</p>
<p>I'm sure that, if you've got to stay on campus during summer, there'll always be some other students around.</p>
<p>Oh, I'd never be able to stay away from home for an entire year...</p>
<p>Most get internships/research positions, which you should do unless you want to commit resume suicide.</p>
