There's a chance thread stickied.

Being an OOSer with a weak GPA and SAT will make Berkeley a reach. However, the rest of your application is strong, so you do have a shot.

thank you kyle. what does a "chance thread stikied" mean?

"Stickied" refers to the threads kept at the toe of each forum. There's one labled "the official chances thread" on the Berkeley forum for all the people wanting "chances" and you can compare your stats or post them. Here's a link

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/379946-official-chances-thread.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/379946-official-chances-thread.html</a></p>

What about the SAT II's? Do you have another one? Math I doesn't count for the UC's.

ah ok im sorry about that. and yes, I completely forgot to change them for this chance thread. I used Math 2 and literature which is also in the 600s. So, considering this, what do you think?

Ummm... I don't "do chances" , I just like to read them....

So, considering this, what do you think?

[/quote]

I don't think it changes your chances much.

I think you're applying to WAY too many schools.

UCB is a bit of a GPA whore, so I think your GPA is too low. And your SAT is low too, esp. for OOS.

Good ECs though.

I think you're basically livin on a wing and a prayer for Cal OOS....

Hate to be blunt, but even IS you'd be a pretty significant reach.

Umm...I too hate to be blunt, but unless you are a crazy URM like Native American, your chances at Berkeley aren't looking too good based solely on your GPA (although going to such a great HS should help a bit?).

And to be honest, most of the schools you picked are reaches because of your comparatively low GPA/SAT scores. You can be fairly confident about Sarah Lawrence, Fordham, Northeastern, and Buffalo (not sure about Honors, though), but the rest are definitely questionable because of their high standards. Your ECs are great though; I really do mean that, it is incredible what you have achieved! They should give you a leg up at some of your schools that would otherwise be reaches. Congratulations on your many great accomplishments, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for Barnard.
