"two-ten" happens to be "210"!

I know! That's why its awkward. But apparently, that's how it is. I think it was established by the winter olympics coming up in 2010. (shrug) Still alot of discussion about it, though. We're so much trouble =)

I wonder how they handled it in 1910.

you say TWENTY-TEN.

so you will be TWENTY-TWENTY

If I remember correctly, President Tilghman addressed the topic in her April Hosting welcome address by saying that we will, from now on, often be introducing ourselves as "Name Name '10 (as in just "ten")." Then I think she said, "For example, I would be Shirley Tilghman... 'ten.'" But I've found myself saying "twenty-ten" most of the time to avoid equivocation.

Hmm. I think you're right... and if I remember correctly, she (or was it Dean Rapelye?) said "twenty ten" at some other point in her welcome address.

Gah. Still no e-mail for me... ;lskdjfopiuelkrs.dvmc

princeten twenty ten ryhmes

i know i spelled princeton wrong, but it's what we're gonna do whenit's 2010

I don't know if this has been addressed before, but how come it doesn't say "(Princeton)" in parentheses next to our names? Is it just because we go to Princeton, so we don't see it but everyone else does, or is it just some weird thing that they forgot to do for the Princeton people? haha forgive me if this was a stupid question...

It doesn't say the name of the school next to people who go to your school. :)

It's because we have a Princeton facebook. All Princeton people will show up without anything else to their names, while people who go to other schools will have their schools in parentheses next to them. Rest assured--to non-Princetonians, the (Princeton) will display.

I was reading an article about how when corporations are recruiting and want to do some additional research on a possible employee, they sometimes look back at college facebooks. Some ppl had stuff like, "I love smoking weed", and that stuff can come back to haunt you in the long run, so you gotta be careful.

um yea that's why i wouldn't get one. :P

princeton's personal facebook > *

So did you guys ever reach a consensus on how to pronounce "Name Name '10"?

[/quote]

Please, please, use something with TWO ACCENTED SYLLABLES. Either "Twenty-Ten" or "Oh-Ten" (which is semi-accurate, you're just putting the apostrophe in a different place: '010). The reason, as you'll find out when you're a graduating senior at Reunions, is so that it fits into the Locomotive Cheer:

Rah! Rah! Rah! Tiger! Tiger! Tiger! Sis! Sis! Sis! Boom! Boom! Boom! Ahhhh!
TWENTY-TEN! TWENTY-TEN! TWENTY-TEN!

Oh, and consider yourself welcomed. :-)
