The Facebook

LADIES AND GENTLEMAN of the CLASS OF 2005,

For those of you who have already selected what school you are going to I highly recommend making a FaceBook (FB) Account if you haven't already. This might be one of the best things about getting into college, and you will all soon learn to love it. It is very addictive so watch out! The FB is a giant network for college students. You make your own profile, then you can search people that went to the same high school as you, people with the same interests, people you will most likely be taking classes with... There are message boards, and a whole bunch of other cool features. Great way to meet new people. You need a VALID COLLEGE EMAIL ACCOUNT to sign up... but after that it’s a piece of cake. It's very popular with college students.

Go out and get an account!
Anyone already with an account?
What do you think of it? I love it.

I blame mediocre grades on facebook addiction.

there's a thread on the college life board about facebook, with many of our names if you wish to add CC people to your friends.

When can you get a valid college email?

Facebook is both the best and worst thing that has ever happened to me. :)

^^Yeah it's too true. Spent too much time on it but it's also a good way to check people's profiles who you've just met or something, although not a good substitute for human interaction, haha.

What is this, like a college-exclusive version of friendster? 0_o

Not fair, I don't get my college e-mail account (and thus the ability to join facebook) until July.

No fair, my college isn't even on that!

Yeah actually its a lot like friendster i had no idea about friendster tho until you said that and I went to check it out. Its a lot lot lot less clustered than friendster and more user friendly. you'll love it.

bstewart what college are you going to?

North Hennepin Community College till Spring 2006, then the University of Minnesota or St Cloud State.

You tire of facebook within a month. It's mainly a way to remember who you met in class the other day but don't want to ask her what his/her name is again.

I have mine because I was in Stanford summer :) so I got an Stanford email account hehe
