E-mailing decisions on Friday

I got the mail too....Looked like a rejection letter initially.....will have to wait ... feel very very cool (sic)

Yea, they enrolled a class of 2,350 last year, and I think they're yield is about 34% (thats the statistic I found on the internet)...which means about 7050 admits, which equates to like a 37% acceptance.

Whoever wrote that email from GW Admissions should rethink what
they write for next year.

They totally freaked everyone out with the wording.

My least favorite part was the last sentence:
"We appreciate your interest in GW"
It makes it sound like a rejection.

Now I'm just nervous about Friday. Good luck!

Hey, I got it, too.I am an international.
What is the point of sending rejections on the mail before acceptances.
Oh,God I don't want it to be arejection. It'd be quite stupid if they reject us in this way.

Oh, churalska, it's not a rejection for sure--just a way of telling us when they'll be emailing stuff.

I think they get a sick sort of pleasure from freaking us the hell out. They probably go on these sights and laugh themselves silly at our neurotic nervousness.

makemehappy,u may be right. I don't want to get such e-mails anymore. It was easier for them to send me the rejection now.

LOL seriously...I mean, WTHECK were they trying to pull, sending that email to us THE WEEK OF LETTERS??? dies Gosh...they SO want to just see us bash our heads against the walls in frustration.

Eeek. I don't know if I can wait 'til Friday.

Well actually, we just want to see how many students survive this week and the email was a way to try and push a few over the edge... ;) I wish everyone good luck and I hope to see you all either this summer at CI session 1 (which is what i registered for) or this fall at Welcome Week. All Freshman Dorms open September 2nd and welcome week begins that day!

GOOD LUCK!

Friday seems soooo far away. The subject for the email was "A message from GWU" so i guess we're not that bright if we thought it was a rejection/admission. they would have said freaking "Regural Action Decision". HAhaha. still freaked me out. ahhh....friday....

Friday will be here in no time. But I freaked out when I checked my e-mail this morning because I thought they weren't going to do online decision notification and I was all 'AHHHHH.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

well you never know! Because Johns Hopkins used "a message from..." and it was a rejection. hahah ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhes. i hope we all get innnnnn!

the email was soo mean! what's the point in sending an email telling us they're sending an email? So we can spend 24 hours moping around and worrying?
I know some RD people who got in already just randomly. They started getting letters on Monday!
I heard that not everybody got the letter and that generally these emails informing us about emails are for borederline applicants.

I'm so nervous. I'm obsessed with GW. Even though I might be able to afford it, it means so much to me to get in.

GW sent out ED1 acceptances with 'A Message from GW,' so do not worry at all.... well i mean worry, but don't read into the subject line too much

good luck

SaraAAAAAh-sorry if i mispelled it! Or anyone else,

How do you know that the e-mails were meant for borderline applicants? I mean did someone from admissions tell you that? Well my twin got the e-mail wed night and I didn't get one nor have I received anything in the mail. So if some people already received acceptances beginning monday like you said, does that mean those of us who haven't heard are rejected or in? Uggggh!! I'm so nervous!

Thanks a bunch!:)

hahah just my opinion, but i dont think GWU would have the time to pick out borderline applicants and send them that email. i think they were just for nearly everyoen who had emails. im not sure why some people didn't get one though, thats odd.

but, i guess it doesnt matter b/c we hear at 5 today!!! good luck nkmungeek, sarahAAA!

Wait... have some people not received the "We'll notify you on Friday after 5PM" e-mail??

yup, supposedly some people have not. but a very small amount.

I didn't get an email as of this morning and everyone else i knew had gotten one so I called GW admissions and they checked my file and they actually had a incorrect email address for me the 1 in danlsa15 had been misinterpreted as an l. Its all fixed now but if you didn't get the email about getting the decision via email today I would call and make sure everything is corrrect in their computers

Good Luck to all today!

1 minute YIKES!!!

And they are officially 5 minutes late....
