"E-sports" (Professional Video Gaming) on Activites Section on Common Application?

Hi, I was trying to decide which “activites” to place on my Common Application.
I am a competitive sc2 player, I was wondering if this should be left in or out of my application?

Put it on, particularly if you have some competitive achievements.

I would include it. But I would not also write an essay about it unless you have truly a different approach.

How competitive are you? How have you placed in tournaments, and how strong was the lineup? Was it a tier 1 event (IEM, DH, etc) or a smaller event that less people are likely to have watched?

Also, are you planning on playing on a CSL team in college? Honestly if you only played in tournaments that had small lineups or were clan wars that <50 people watched, it might not be worth it to include unless it’s something you’re truly passionate about or have nothing better to write about.

Hey, I also play SC2 professionally (hovering around #180-150 Grandmaster in the U.S.). I’ve never won or competed in any major events like IEM but I still feel like it would be a waste to not include the activity.

How would you add small and possibly unofficial tournaments to the Common App? Could it make a difference in my application?
