<p>Right, because that notation is essentially meaningless, and could indicate that the student doesn’t even know what he’s doing (i.e. his teacher just told them what buttons to press on the calc). Always use correct notation.</p>
<p>Just write it out as 10^power. It takes like 2 more seconds. Better safe than sorry.</p>
