Just to get an idea of who from CC applied, and what they looked like, just put the bare stats in, so come Dec 15, you can edit your post to say if you got in.
its just out of curiosity for me, i just want to see the type of applicants from this board, though i know that the actual field is less competitive.

Your "Hook" if you have one: umm...I'm probably different from the norm (female physicist republican--dunno if that last bit will kill me, but it's different--and my main EC involves making videos), but I dunno if any of that would be a "hook"

SATs: 4000. my writing was a 790 and that's usually the one that counts so 3990

^ i knew the alphabet, so that helped a lot. And I took 3 hours of adult remedial english classes after school everyday, worked on english during summers, etc.

Most importantly, i challenged myself by taking honor/ib english classes after a year. Had I stayed in pathetic ESOL, I'd probably be reading at 5th-grade level by now. This is probably the main reason i learned english rapidly.

English is still my worst subject though (700 v, 720 writing, 4 ap lang) so i still have a lot of room for improvement.

^ now that's the tricky part...i had to waste the whole additional information part trying to explain that!

I was born in the US, but after a few months my parents (both iranians) moved to Iran. I was in Iran for the next 15 years and moved to US in 2001.

So, no i'm not international. I'm a US citizen.

And yes, I studied like hell for writing. Man i think i memorized the whole barron's book

thanks ranisparkle :) this is a neat thread. i haven't been on this board in a while. had to start another account cause i forgot my password and all that good stuff. go me.

leely, i was talkin about Barron's SAT II writing, not verbal.

i did try to memorize words (not barron's though) but it didn't help much. in fact the words i actually remembered in sat's were the ones i saw in books, internet, newspaper, etc.

SAT1+3SATII : 3800

Hook: First Generation college student, immigrant, blue collar.... spent the first 8 years of my life in considerable poverty. (essays address this)
