lol, yale’s EA IS an ED. trust me, i would know.
and yea INeedAssistance, MIT and CalTech are definitely the best, although I hear Cornell has a pretty good engineering program too.

True True. But Cornell is over rated, and their Engineering is not THAT great. I’d rather go to Berkeley than Cornell for engineering for sure. :)

I think you have a really good chance at getting into one of them. Largely because of your sat 2 scores. Check out safety schools though! You’re in at the UCs.
This is gonna sound bad, but try to make yourself not look like a stereotypical Asian in your essays.

Chance back:http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/733304-chance-schools.html

No worries I am applying to 3 UC’s :)

bump! 10 char

whats the point of putting ‘AP scholar’ Djokovic? Practically every1 in my school got a cert for AP scholar just for getting 5 on 3 subjects. You can mention about taking 8Aps and all, but adcoms will definitely detect the portfolio filling with your AP scholar thing. especially since you are applying to top colleges, most will def. alrdy have them.

You seem like an ideal candidate to these schools. I think you have an 80% chance of getting into either MIT or Caltech. Good luck!

chance? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736978-chances-questbridge-schools-ucs.html

indianmonster- I mentioned that I am gonna be a “National AP Scholar” which requires 8 AP tests, not 3. There are many levels of AP Awards. Yes it is true, many people do get some from of AP scholar, but NOT everyone has a National AP Scholar award (competing 8 AP tests before senior year)

bumpppppyyyy

bump bumop bup

more input? :)

Bump bump bump

I think you have a better chance than the standard applicant (about 10%) for MIT and Caltech. However, just like with mostly anyone else, they are still reaches.

thank you
more?

I woud say that you have about a 70% chance for MIT and slightly less for Cal Tech. I really don’t see what else they could possibly ask for in you. Your math and science scores are off the charts and so is your GPA. You have a very solid chance with your credentials; just make sure you secure some excellent recommendations and a nearly flawless essay. Everyone applying to MIT is brilliant so you need something that makes you stand out among a group of scholars.

Great stats and scores and ecs. I guess just try and get everything a little higher but you should be close for MIT.

hmmm I think you have a FANTASTIC chance. I’m jealous of your scores lol. I would say you get into at least 1 of them.

Djokovic, great body of work. I think you stand as good a chance as anybody to get into MIT or Caltech. I think there are about 10% who are shoo-ins. I think you belong in the next 25%, especially if you up your SAT score a bit – 2350 maybe; your SAT 2 scores are awesome. good luck

thanks, SAT scores will be upped. I was a bit of a late boomer when it came to trying to achieve high. most of my awards came during junior year. Sophomore and Freshman years I was just getting A’s and doing community service, etc. no big awards.

u have good grades and really good rank
so try ton tell the admission officers what u are passionate about
im sure u will get into atleast 1 of these schools
