I agree with the above poster. If you’re accepted, great! If you’re deferred or rejected, remember that closing one door opens many others. There are a myriad of opportunities to chase your interests, both in and outside higher education. Don’t let rejection end your passions - let it give you more fuel to excel and improve.

One minute to go. crap.

Deferred - Expected but still disappointing

Whew, I’m not late. Just opened the results thread.

I’m helping a friend move today, and the movers are coming at 12:30, so I will likely not be around for the next hour or so. Please remember that there’s no chat in the results thread, and I will move posts here from that thread if they’re not results posts.

Deferred too :(

Rejected! Thoroughly expected, haha

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

deferred, got into georgia tech though!

deferred too… same as above pretty expected.

Deferred :/.

Deferred as well, but I expected it. I have been preparing myself for a defer so not really sad.

deferred…meh

deferred…

how does a defer letter look? Like what does it say?

Defered, still gives me a chance so im happy with it.

…flat out rejected. wow. i wasn’t expecting that. oh well.

What the deferral letter looks like:

accepted! so happy right now! they really do want you to apply sideways :D

Deferred, as I’d already convinced myself would be the outcome. Oh well -shrug- guess that means I need to work extra hard on my remaining regular decision applications!

Deferred. Eh. Can’t complain. Those in the same boat as me, let us keep in mind that we are the majority. It’s not as if EVERYONE else got in. We are all incredibly bright and obviously motivated (that application was a doozy). So heads up, and show MIT what you have come the regular decision application period.
