has anyone checked Yale’s admissions page recently? it says "We hope to make decisions available online during the evening of Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Please watch the admissions Web site for more information. If there is going to be a delay in posting the decisions online for any reason, you will find an announcement on our front page at <a href="http://www.yale.edu/admit.“>www.yale.edu/admit.” Is this normal? Do you think there could be a delay?

Dancer13: There probably won’t be a delay, but they’re just saying it as a precaution. Keep your fingers crossed. However, I do know that they haven’t finalized all of their decisions yet, including mine. I just heard from Yale yesterday saying that they haven’t got my SAT II scores (even though the same lady confirmed 3 days ago that she did receive them) and can’t finalize their decisions as a result… Well, lets just see. Don’t worry :)

Yalie here. EA decisions have always come out on the 15th, even when other schools release decisions earlier than their stated deadline. Last year they were several hours late, so be prepared to be patient.

(And to confirm: there is no email sent prior to the decisions being posted)

^ Question: Does the email contain the admissions decision, or does it prompt the applicant to Yale’s website, where the decision can be accessed?

^ nickknack said there would be NO email

^ OH, how did I miss that…

^ They’re tempting us, right? Sending us an email without actually telling us whether we got in?

I second rockermcr’s motion. Any 2013ers…?

^ they don’t send an e-mail
we just have to refresh continuously with high hopes haha

I don’t know, I find that kind of stupid, to tell you the truth. Colleges should come to students to announce decisions, not the other way around.

I suppose that with Yale, it doesn’t really matter… Everyone who applied EA is probably eagerly awaiting their decisions at this point, so they don’t really need to send an email for anything.

oops, my bad.

^ yes, and kill the servers.

Hahaha, the servers crash every year, from what I’ve heard. 5,000 students logging in at the exact same time is bound to cause some problems…

I just looked at the little update posted on Yale’s website, and it says to “please watch the admissions Web site for more information.” So I guess it’s asking us to just keep refreshing the page from the moment we get home from school on Tuesday… :)

good luck everyone! i have friends who have already found out about penn and dartmouth. i’m so nervous haha
